Mistakes of Youth by Tenshi-Inverse Mistakes of Youth by Tenshi-Inverse
The reason why Mycroft wants to know everything about his brother's everyday activities. The way I see it. He just doesn't want this to happen again.
It was an overdose, if it's not quite clear to you.

My god... I really shouldn't be looking at pictures like this at such an hour (at the time of writing it is long past midnight). This, dear, talented artist, is way too much for my poor nerves.
The worst part is that it sort of makes sense... It's not entirely impossible (which, by Sherlock's definition, qualifies it to be a probable truth) and it does really explain the excessive lengths Mycroft goes to to keep an eye on his brother. Though he will never admit to caring about Sherlock, or worrying, it's pretty obvious that he does. Personally I don't think Sherlock would ever be clumsy enough to take an overdose, but, hey, could still happen, either by accident or... simple curiosity.
Oh, and, I dare you to take a good look at this (which is, of course a brilliant and lovely piece of art) while listening to the 'Sherlocked' track from the series... It's not the best of ideas, but still, since I was stupid enough to do it, I dare you to try!

Yeah, it's definitely a possibility, especially since in other versions, Sherlock Holmes has been known to do drugs. It explains why Mycroft is always asking John about Sherlock because he doesn't want this to happen again and wants to make sure Sherlock isn't doing drugs again. It's also possible John knows Sherlock did drugs before and worries that he will relapse and overdose again so he's protective of him and feels like he can't leave him alone. It might also be partly why Sherlock becomes so dependent on John (and later Mary) is because he's afraid that without them, he'll relapse and overdose like when he was younger. It would've been interesting if this happened after he faked his death because he was alone and he missed John and Mycroft or Irene. Granted, I think a large part why Sherlock is so dependent on John and why John feels he has to take care of him is because Sherlock's a little Autistic so he has difficulty with certain things, especially socially and needs John's help a lot but previously doing drugs and overdosing could be part of it as well.

This actually kind of makes sense, it explains why Watson always feels an obligation to constantly watch Sherlock and doesn't feel like he can leave him alone even for a few minutes. Mycroft is always asking about Sherlock and even insists that Watson watches him closely at all times.

Hi! So, I love this pic and "Don't you dare", and they've given me a really great idea for a fic. I was wondering if you would mind if I write it up and put it on dA? I'll give you credit for the original idea, and put links to these pictures, of course. :D
On another note,

That would be great =)
Honestly, I've already written a fanfic based on this pic, but it's only in Russian, so it's fine if you write another. Anyway they would be completely different =)
Glad you like my works that much.

Hey, I got the fic up, if you're interested in reading it. I'd love to know what you think :D
KeiraTehKewl Featured By Owner Oct 26, 2012
Woo! Thanks so much! :iconweekenddanceplz:
It's nearly done, so I might actually have it up by the end of the day if I really work hard on it :3
Ahaha, man, now I wish I could read Russian, because it would be really interesting to see how our two fics differed.
And I think this is such a great idea, and I love basically anything that explores the relationship between the Holmes brothers, so these pictures just struck a particular chord with me :D

I could see that happening honestly.

That's so... sad. I don't know why but I almost want to see something like this I guess after Reichenbach John will be back to having nightmares and PTSD so Sherlock would go back to smoking and drugs. It's very very very unlikely they'd put something like that on the show but there's always fanfiction...
And this looks great! The other picture too :D

It looks so awesome! Positively breathtaking, I love your style. :D

You've really worked emotions into this piece, and considering we can't even see Mycroft's expression that is a real achievement, to have done it all through his body language!

I work with recovering drug addicts so the whole "danger night" part and the bullying drugs bust really hit me hard. Sherlock could easily be one of my clients, just trying to move past that part of his life. Both of those parts broke my heart, and I really do think BBC should expand on that a little.

I love this piece, too. Beautifully captured.

I really like this idea, it makes a lot of sense and I like how you've portrayed the scene too.

This is so wonderful and beautiful and then I read your description and then I had Reichenbach feelings all over again.

This is brilliant! Just having so many thoughts about it all, that perhaps why Mycroft is so proctective and wants to know it all
DragonHeart2theStars Featured By Owner Feb 17, 2012  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
Gah, this is awesome! There isn't much art showing Sherlock's struggle with drugs, so this is a very unique and brilliant piece!
Great work! XD

I agree with the above comment. It's an interesting perspective. Very nice work!

This is amazing, there is far too little art depicting Sherlock and his issues with drugs, and the major consequences. So this is great, thank you!
Emmasj Featured By Owner Feb 26, 2012
I completely agree!
